JACKSON, MS (WLBT)- The law license of a Rankin County attorney, facing a contempt charge, has been suspended by the Mississippi Bar Association.
Michael J. Brown agreed to the interim suspension from practicing law until he can purge himself of civil contempt in Hinds County Chancery Court.
Brown is accused of misappropriating a $3,000,000 inheritance belonging to the grandson of civil rights legend, Doctor Aaron Henry.
Brown was supposed to establish a guardianship for then DeMon McClinton, 16, but never did.
Judge Dwayne Thomas ordered Brown jailed until he returned the money.
The Mississippi Bar already had a formal complaint pending against Brown.
